Hi Ganesh,
you cannot deploy a WebDynpro project on WAS J2EE 6.20.
WebDynpro Runtime only exists from 6.30 on.
Hope it helps

Hi Ganesh,
> Then I will try installing WAS 6.30
6.30 is quite old (was for rampup only, I think), you should right start with 6.40, SR1 (=SP) (eventually path it to SP11, to be as actual as possible).

Yes and no... You cannot deploy the project on this server, but you can integrate the WebDynpro as iViews within the portal. But you have to have the WebDynpro app running on 6.30++
> iViews for WebDynpro in 6.0 SP2.

Search for "webdynpro iview" on SDN, there are a many of forum entries... For example this one with it's links:
Hope it helps

Hi,
Just check whether u have given the J2EE Details.
In the NDS go to Window>Preferences>SAP J2EE Engine.
Check whether u have given the host name and message server port.
If this is done.
Open the J2EE Engine view and there you will find whether the J2EE engine is running. If not start the server.
I think u have missed out the first one.
Hope this will solve ur problem.

Sowjanya.

Thanks for your input.
I already checked these information. Specified SAP J2EE Engine information [ as I am trying to deploy from localhost Portal and J2ee running in the same machine].
This is the information I provided in the SAP J2EE Engine
Message Server Host: localhost
Message Server Port: 3600
I also tried checking radio button
'SAP J2EE engine is installed on localhost'.. But it comes up with the following error when I do a Browse
'
No local engine could be found'
Reason: No System could be found under
machinename\sapmnt
Please configure your engine as remote host installation.
'
Thanks,
Ganesh
