Browser/Platform support

Hi, guys!

A question of more strategic character: Does anybody know if SAP will continue to add browser-/platform support for new mobile devices/operating systems/browsers for its Mobile Web Dynpro technology until end of maintenance of SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 EhP1?

Product Availability Matrix doesn't state anything about Mobile Web Dynpro.

Is SAP NW CEs Mobile Web Dynpro still SAPs strategic technology to implement requirements for web applications running on mobile devices?

Regards,

Thomas

    Hi, folks!

Isn' t there anybody who has asked himself or SAP the same question already and is unsatisfied with the "use SUP" answer?

We as customers have spent huge amounts of money on java-based technologies - with SAPs promise that these investments will pay off in future.

Now we see these investments - especially in WDJ and Mobile WD - fade away!

So, again the question: Besides buying new SAP infrastructure components and technologies, isn' t there an official statement or best practice on how to implement web-based applications for different mobile devices (iPhone, Android, Blackberry) with the already existing SAP IT equipment and possibilities?

    Regards,

    Thomas

Will give JMobileQuery on .NET a try - with loose coupling to SAP via Web Services.

SAP obviously hasn't got the technologies to fulfuill the requirement of platform-independentness.

      Thomas
