New GL - MM, Enable segment field for input during PR / PO

Hi Expert,

With reference to the subject of this post, I would like to have advice on how to enable segment field ready for input during MM posting, PR or PO stage.

I cannot see any of the segment field setting in SPRO > Materials Management > Purchasing > Account Assignment > Maintain Account Assignment Categories

Kindly advise how to enable this for user input, as I would like to make this segment field user-definable, instead of derived from profit center (cost center > profit center).

Hi Dear ,

First it's not possible in New GL , Segments are picking from the Profit Center master data or Cost Center - Profit Center master data. if you change the segment at the time of transaction how can you make sure the reporting (pft. and segment level Balance sheets are correct)

I can suggest one thing your New GL Document Splinting configuration is related to Pft center and Segment, if you change the setting for Business Area and Profit Center then system will not pick the Segment. that time user can chose any segment.

I this this is not possible in Standard SAP, you need to do some enhancement for the same.
