Dear All,

we have separate servers for R3 and EP,

There are some login id'a, who have access in R3 as well as EP, but there user names are different in R3 and EP,

I came to know that, we can login in R3 and EP with the same login ID, Can you please let me know the process, how it works..

I think, its possible through "Single Sign On"....

Please let me know the process, How it works? and How to map it?

Thanks in Advance................

Regards

Vamsi.

Hi Vamsi,

single sign On:Trust between two system we can use SSO (Example:sap EP and Sap R/3 system )after sso EP and R/3 maintain the same user s if different users its not possible to access R/3

How can download the sso ticket:

SSO ticket : Go to System admin>system config>key store administration -->Download the .der file

Go to R/3 system ;using the StrustSSO2 (Tcode)>Add to Acl certificate>click the import button --> we can upload the .der file -

check the SSO is configure or not :sso2 (tcode) and rz10 (tcode)pass the parameters

User mapping :If sso is not configure we can use the user mapping

go to user admin>type the user name and click the GO button>select the user-->user mapping for system alias -->select user and select the system alias name and pass the parameters username &password (that user should available back end also).

Hope this information help to you

Dear Rahul and srinu,

Thanks for your replies,

I am going through your links and your informations, and let u know...

My requirement is, the user should access both R3 as well EP systems with one user id.

currently we have two different userids for R3 and EP, and it costing 2 licenses for a single user in this scenario,

To overcome this, with one licensing userid the user should access both R3 and EP systems.

Please Suggest,

Thanks in advance,

In case if your portal datasource is LDAP, then you can ask LDAP administrator to add a property which can store your R/3 user name. Hence this will become an attribute for an user. Now in portal datasource xml file you can do a mapping which will enable SSO to R/3

For detailed documentation .. please refer to the below link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/de/0b/d82c4142aef623e10000000a155106/content.htm

Hi,

SSO with Login Ticket works only when the user ids are same in both the systems.

If the user ids are different in the two systems, then the preferred approach is User Mapping.

In this scenario the EP user id will be mapped with the backend (R3 or BW) user id.

This can be done in User Administration Role search the user and go to the tab User Mapping for System Access and select the required System Alias for which you want user mapping from the dropdown and provide User ID and Password of the backend system. Now try to access the application/transaction from the backend system by assignig the related role, the portal will display the desired output without asking for the login credentials of the backend systtem.

Hi vamsi,

If you establish SSO there should be same user id in portal aswell as in R3 and if both users are different you need to do user mapping.

Please find the below links regarding User mapping how sso works.
