Hi,

You need Enterprise license for the same. Check SAP note 663756. Please find below the extract from this note:

DB2 license prerequisites

To connect to a DB2 or DB4 database, you require a "DB2 Connect" license. The "DB2 Connect" license is part of the "DB2 Enterprise Server Edition" (ESE) license up to and including DB2 Version 9.5. With DB2 9.7 or higher, this license is no longer contained in the ESE product. By default, a DB2 ESE instance is installed on the database server only.

Thanks

Hi,

I am not sure about this part but as per the note, it is part of DB2 Enterprise license. So, you need not to get any other license. Might be someone else can help us on it.

Thanks

Hi,

for normal operations of a SAP system running on DB2 LUW ( DB6 ) a DB2 Connect license is not needed. A DB2 Connect license is only required if you want to connect to a DB2/z ( DB2 ), DB2/iSeries ( DB4 ) or Informix database using the SAP database interface library for DB2 LUW ( DB6 ).

Since this is not the standard use case of a SAP system this license can not be obtained from SAP. You should talk to your IBM sales rep about this license. The type of the needed DB2 Connect license may depend on how often you open such herterogenous connections to the remote databases in your application. But only IBM can answer which license is needed.
