Incorrect Costing Status

Dear Expert,

I had costing run using CK11N where particular material ZZZ run with costing status KA (Costed without errors), however,

one of the lower level material x is having error.

Example:

Material ZZZ

__|__Material A

__|__Material B

_____|__Material a

_____|__Material b

__________|__Material x

__________|__Material y

_____|__Material c

_____|__Material d

...

Why does this happen?

Is there anyway to let this higher level material ZZZ to show costing status KF?

    Hi,

The system design is as follows: if the costing view for a material type is not allowed, we suppose it to be irrelevant for costing. Consequently the material is displayed with a red light to show this property, but the error is not rolled up to the higher level materials because we say that this material is irrelevant and has no influence on the result.

There are basically three reasons, which lead to a status KF on top level materials:

-the top material itself triggers an error message. This you would be able to see in the log in CK11N next to the cost tab

-Message CK 318 or 465 have been customized as Error instead of Warning. There might be another message too, which also carries the KF level up from the lower level. (However this is customizing).

The last and also likely possibility is a material independent error message in the costing run, which triggers status KF for all

subsequent cost estimates and not considering costing level.

Additionally cost roll up depends on adjustement in costing variant. Here on tab 'quantity structure' you can set flag 'take over

active costing ....'. If you set this flag than system react in following way: If a costing for a component gets status KF, then

system searches for an active plan costing. If this is found, these costs will roll up to higher level. Higher levels will

NOT get status KF, although component costing is KF.

Usually the top level material has status KA when costing in Trx CK11N, even if the component product has errors.

    regards

    Waman

    Hi,

it depends on the status of messages CK318 / CK193 if "KF" causes "KF" in all upper levels or not. See SAPNET note 88019 what to do.
