SAP B1 DI Proxy Service has been stopped

Dear all,

on SAP B1 server, the SAP Business One DI Proxy Service stopped 3/5 times a day.

Our server monitoring tool found this alert: The service SAP Business One DI Proxy Service has been stopped!

What exactly is SAP Business One DI Proxy Service?

Why should it go down?

Best regards

Emanuele

We are getting a windows service monitor log saying that this service is stopping every hour.

The service name is SAPB1iDIProxy and I cant understand why it is always stopping.  We do use the DI server for a third party piece of software on this customers site.  We also use the Intercompany Solution.  So a service like this stopping is very much a problem for us.

Can you advise on where we can make the setting change to stop this service from stopping and then restarting?

Dear Emanuele,

It sounds like you have DI Server installed. In this case, time out may happen if the service has been idle for longer than the threshhold.

Thanks,

Dear Gordon,

I have DI Server installed.

In this moment, this service is in manual mode and is stopped, but SAP B1 DI Proxy Service and SAP B1 DI Proxy Monitor are in automatic mode and they are active.

Should I set them in manual mode and stop them?

If you change it to manual mode, it will be stopped more often. Try change DI Server to automatic to see.

Dear Gordon,

I started DI Server in automatic mode.

Now it's active, but sometimes the SAP B1 DI Proxy Service continue to stop e rerun.

For the moment I leave SAP B1 DI Proxy Service and DI Proxy Service Monitor in manual mode.

In this way, our Windows Server monitor doesn't throw any alarm when the service stops.

Do you know what exactly are DI Proxy Service and DI Proxy Service Monitor?

Best regards

It depends on what add-on do you have that needs it. If nothing wrong, you can make it manual and the existing code that needs it should be able to start it.
