Entire hierarchy time-dependent comparison in query

Dear experts,

I need some insight on how to create a query with an entire time dependent hierarchy to compare the entire time dependent hierarchy in two different dates.

In SAP help portal Iu2019ve read the text below but I donu2019t really understand how to do it:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/80/1a6702e07211d2acb80000e829fbfe/content.htm

u201CIn Reporting, you can work in the individual columns of the report structure with fixed date values. You may want to do this to compare Main Area North in the Time-Dependent Hierarchy 05.31.2000 with Main Area North in the Time-Dependent Hierarchy 06.01.2000 (simulation).u201D

Hope you can help me, thanks !

Hi,

In time dependent hierarchy ; two hierarchies with same name and different time intervals are treated as two different entities. Hence if you want to see the values for these hierarchies you can place them in different columns and get their corresponding values from the data provider.

Time dependent hierarchies are shown in the report relative to the key date of the query.

Hi navsamol,

Thank you for your reply.

I tried your solution, but I donu2019t know how to put two hierarchies with same infoobject name into two different columns.

Hi again,

Do you mean to create two different queries ?

Thank you,

Hi Raymond,

I am not sure whether this approach will work or not, but what you can do is,

1) Create two different RKF's with particular amount key figure and then restrict it with Hierarchy characteristic, and date characteristic, In the date restriction give a fixed date value. In both the RKF's you can give different value and check if you are able to compare.

2) Second approach what you can try is, again create two RKF's in column with amount and date as the only restriction in it. In the rows only put the Hierarchy characteristic, restricted with required hierarchy and both the columns should show different data as per the date restriction.

3) As suggested by you, create two different queries and then restrict with different time intervals.

Just give it a try.

Hi Durgesh,

I will try to create two different queries and then restrict with different time intervals.

Thank you.
