Internal order error

There are line items from the previous year (2010) that need to be settled. But the year 2010 is already closed. Message AW624 appeared. Aside from applying notes, are there actual workarounds to simplify this. When I checked the SAP notes 425601, 362232, 377456, 412580 and 339973. These notes suggest:

a. reversal of entries u2013 which would be a very difficult procatedure for us

b. program updates u2013 which should be the last remedy.

Another thing is that OSS Note 425601 Change the error message in a information message, is a fix but inconsistencies from IO to AUC still exist.?? ANy suggestions?
