Appraisal Document : New Element addition to released Template.

Hi,

Please let me know is it possible to add new VB element to already released PMS Template ?.If possible please guide me for the same.

Hi Mahesh,

You can only change a PMS template if no appraisal documents have been created with it. If they have, you need to copy it and use that template.

In order to change a template, go to tcode PHAP_CATALOG, right-click your template and select Unrelease. Make the changes and then release it again.

But Templates were already released. and users are currently using it.Now user want add some more functionality to the template.

is it possible .....?

Hi Mahesh,

If appraisal documents have been created from the template then the template can no longer be unreleased changed. All appraisal documents must be deleted for the template to be unreleased and changed.

Hi Kumar,

Templates that have appraisal documents should not be released if this cannot be done in PHAP_CATALOG. Can you please provide justification for using this report when this is against the standard system usage?

Hi Luke,

Sorry for the late reply.

In Some exceptional cases we can unrelease the used templates by running the said report. But before running the report we need to check the system patch level and applicability of Snote with unrelease program.

I referred the note -Note 888650 - Cancel release of an Appraisal Template in use .

This note clearly specifies in bold Important: Only use this report if advised by SAP Development Support!. You should not be recommending this note to be used and I advise the poster not to implement or use this note unless they are advised by SAP Support.

Hi Luke,

We have successfully implemented this note in one of the implementations so i have advised this note. May be we need to be more careful while checking the feasibility of applying this note.

I would also like to know the solution for this kind of requirements; it would help us to follow the standard system settings to avoid data discrepancies.

Hi Mahesh,

Scenario 1: If templates have been released and documents are created in same client then the templates cannot be released for changes(Standard Functionality)

Scenario 2:If templates have been released and transported from DEV to QA and documents have been created in QA,the templates can be released in Dev and after making changes the same cam can be moved to QA or Prod via TR.

Template already productionise and also Goal Setting Phase has been Completed.and client want to add additional functionality.

is there any way add dynamic rows to existing tempalte ?

If you want to modify the Template Released one.

Then You can implement the Note 888650 that contains the source that ahs to be created in system to change the status eventhoug it is used.

Do remember.Once the template is used whatever the description you change it will reflect in th used employee's template as well..

But if you add new Criterion i dont think it will reflect in the used employees template.

Any ways try this program in you development and proceed in your production system.

Hi,

With previous client, I used same solution as Sushil Soni suggested:

Unrelease in DEV, make change, release and transport. The template (VA object) is the same you only add another relation (hrp1001).
