Substitute cost center

Hi Guys,

I just need your expert opinion on why there is a need for setting up a substitute cost center (table TKA3G). This actually lets payroll re-route payroll posting to a default cost center if it sees any issue with G/L mapping or does not find any cost center in an employee's infotype 1.

Is this something that a company needs for a specific reason?

Thanks!

    Hello,

The need for substitute cost centre is purely business requirements.

    1. For directing the funds

    2. For recovery ex: Tranining dept will have different cost centres for recovery etc.,

    3. some times . if you dont mention any cost center in employee info type... it would take the default from default cost center

as the substituion.. later we would transfer the values from default cost center

    hope this helps
