Hi All,
In a component I have a freely programmed search help .
this search help component is called on the main component but still we are able to close the main component .
How to restrict the main window from being closed ?
I think while creating a window we have the option for setting the window as modal.
but in this case we are not creating the window we are calling another component as window.
this can not be done.

Hi,
simmilar to window, search help popup (created as Freely Programmed search help component) is also Modal. whether you execute application using SE80 or displayed in Portal environment, you can close using IE browser button, no matter whether it is modal window.
Modal means without closing popup window you cannot do anything on parent view or window. But closing directly IE browser button will close WD application whether in Portal or executed as standalone using SE80.
I hope this will help you.
Thanks,
Chandra
