Running queries coming from different systems

Hello All

I have a scenario,

We are using BI version 7.0,

The requirement is to run queries in BEX analyzer coming from 2 different SaPBW systems.

For example :

We have two BW systems A and B,

In the First tab we have query running based on the BW system A and in the second tab query running on Bw system B.

When we try to run the second query in the second tab the first query vanishes,

Can anybody help me, is it possible to run the 2 different queries from different systems???

Regards,

Ravi

Hi,

Its not possible to run two different queries from two differen BW systems in a single workbook as Analyzer gets connected to only one BW system at a time. If you are connected to system A query for system A wiill be executed and if you are connected to system B query for system B will be executed.

Hi,

I dont think you can do it in WAD, Also it wold to communicate to the single system .

However you can Check with basis or any portal(EP )

Hi Ravi,

I am afraid to say that there is no standard way of achieving this in SAP BI even through WAD. Because at a time you can connect to only one BI system be it WAD or Analyzer or any SAP GUI.

The only work around is to take reports from both the BI systems and embed them manually to the excel or you can paas data from one BI system(A) to another BI system(B) using Open Hub or APD or general BI data flow by creating a data source and then create a report in the target BI system(B) .

In this case the report will be in BI system B and you can easily show the values of both the systems in a single report by restricting over "0Infoprovider".

Hi,

Try doing this with RRI Jump.

Just Define Report B as Target from Report A (Just like Jump to ECC from a BW report).

Hello Nagarjuna,

Can you please explain more, how will I be able to that .

I need report A in one Tab and Report B on the other TAB, will it be possible using RRI ??

Hi Ravi,

Even using RRI you will not be able to combine reports from different systems in single workbook. RRI is generally used for Summery to detail level reporting. In such scenarios from first report you click on particular characteristic and other details related to this characteristics are shown in different report coming from any other source.

If you want this kind of report to run then either you will have to build a Virtual provider in one of the BI system making source as another system and then create a query and use it in same workbook.

In this way your report might take some time to execute but you don't need to load all your data from one system to other.
