PA

Hi all,

I have a following situation. My client has one planning area and one MPOS set up for DP and this is for the process in one country. We have the next release for another country and we are deciding on whether to use the same PA or create another one. How will both the options impact the performance?

Any urgent reply is greatly appreciated

Sai

    Hi Sai,

You can take a call based on below parameters.

1] CVC's in each countries. One PA can handle 2-3 Lakhs CVC provided KF's are 20-30 easily.

2] Check at what level Planning of SKU will be done for what duration. The performance of SAP APO planning books reduces drastically if there are more than 30,000 cells at any point.

3] Check Geography difference This is to avoid CVC Locking

4] If One Country needs say 10 KF's for 5 years and another country say 25 KF's for 2 years then it is better to have two seperate PA to avoid non required time series created.

    • Hi Sai,

2] Check at what level Planning of SKU will be done for what duration. The performance of SAP APO planning books reduces drastically if there are more than 30,000 cells at any point.

Here 30,000 cells means I can have say 500 KF's to be displayed for say 60 Months [Considering data is stored on Monthly buckets] in Data View.

Else it can also be say I have 500 Product SKU's for which I need to display Sales History of last 5 Years.

If Data view have to display data for more than 30,000 cells than it will be drastically slow.

      Hope this make you clear.

    Hi

The performance will depends on volume of CVC for each country; but since during your DP runs or even during accessing it to the planning books you can define a particular selections or different views; and the normal activities wont affect the normal planning activities activities.

    Hi Sai,

    we are already doing this.

we are having saperate MPOS and planning area for each roll out cluster.

As mentioned above, we faced performance issues for previous clients, and also data issue for using same MPOS and planning area.

    Thanks,

    Regards,
