I'm obviously hoping that this means, we finally have an answer to the 'Why can't I get Xcelsius on my iPad?" question. I think we shall have to wait for sometime before we do have an announcement from SAP.

At the last TechEd, the word we heard was that SAP was waiting for Adobe and Apple to come to truce before they decided which direction they were going to head in.

Until then make do with Explorer and I guess Antivia?

It would be nice to finally have an answer to the iPad question. Saw antivia at BOBJ ASUG in Orlando and was impressed, but we're debating on going that route or waiting for SAP.

I will leave this open to see if anyone else has any information.

Thanks for the response Abhijith.

Dear Abhijith,

We are a large Xcelsius customer in the Spanish market. We have developed more than 120 different dashboards with Xcelsius in our applications and we are very concern with Adobe announcement to abandon Flash for mobile devices.

Our clients are requiring our BI solution into mobile devices and we have to decide whether abandoning Xcelsius and redevelopping our dashboards with other BI solutions like ComponentArt, qlikview or similar, or waiting SAP to come up with a new Xcelsius version suporting HTML5.

The question is simple do you really think we are going to have Xcelsius exporting to HTML5? And if so please give us a time delivery estimation for it so that we can decide on our strategy.

Thank you very much in advance

Very interested in being able to export to HTML5 as well. I've attempted using converters, but they've failed on the swfs i've tried converting.

Would be great to hear from SAP if HTML5 is in the works...

My two cents.

It's important to define Adobe's decision before getting too concerned. I would say that 'abandoned' makes it sound worse than it is. Adobe are ceasing active development of flash for mobile, but they will continue to release bug fixes etc. So if you have hundreds of Xcelsius dashboards out there on mobile devices then you don't need to worry, flash isn't going anywhere, you dashboards will continue to work.

Of course Adobe are not changing their plans for desktop flash at all.

The biggest thing that will come of this is a positive, hopefully export to HTML5, which would be awesome.
