Description change in BEX

Hi,

I am creating a query based upon a multiprovider. In the multiprovider , navigational field attribute is 0bpartner_APR (APR) but while creating the query through bex, I found that the description is different i.e APR 10. I am not getting how the description got changed to "APR 10". I know how to change the description in bex that is the not the point. My question is what are the criteria or how the description is getting changed in BEX.

Thanks,

Snehasish

    Hi ,

Go to the infoobject defenition and check for Long and short description(not Text tables, actual defenition). In query and while selecting fields for display from infoprovider short descirptions are shown.

    Hope this helps,

      Hi,

Sorry for the wrong info. You are right. that field is not a standard one .It's a custom field. name is ZBR_APR . Short and Long both description of that field is APR. I have cross checked but still I am getting APR 10 in the query level.Don't know why..

    Hi,

Open the 0BPARTNER InfoObject and go to the Attribute screen. Your APR InfoObject is a Nav Attribute of 0BPARTNER, so it should be present here.

In the Attributes section, check the "Navigation Att. description" and "Nav. attribute short text" for the APR InfoObject, one of these will be APR 10.

    Regards,

Thanks .My problem has been solved. I have assigned points to all of you. Problem was "Nav. attribute short text" was APR 10. Earlier I was checking the short/ long text of info object ZBR_APR.I haven't checked the Short text description in the attribute field of 0bpartner.

      Regards,
