Date between is not getting filtered...

Hi,

I have a WebI report data provider as BI query, where Date format in BI query is as character, but when i put a filter on that to restrict dates between as a prompt in query filters in query panal and refresh the query, It is selecting the dates between the characters but not dates.

Ex: If i choose Dates between Jan2011 to Jun2011, it is sorting all Jan and Jun months in the query and showing results for even 2007 year.

When i tried to change the type in Universe-> obj definition, it is getting parsed, but when i run webi report it is failed.

how to change this to date type in BO/Universe, even i need to filter this in dashboards.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Raj.

    Hi

From ur Thread you are asking about dates Between But you given Months .

if you want to filter by date then

    1) Make sure your calendar day in universe level date type is date.

    2) In webi drag and drop the calendar day in query filter and use operator between From to then you wil get filtered dates as per ur requirement

if you want to filter by Months then

    1) In universe level data type sholuld be Character

    2) In webi between operator some times wont wrk out . why becoz

Ex: In query level if u take jan2011 to jun 2011 . some times the list of values messed up in report level like it shows Apr2011 ...in ascending order .

My Best suggestion is try to take inlist operator for selection of months or try using dates Between .

    Hope this helps You 😊

    Thanks & regards

    Sunil
