Filter not working in ALV using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY

Hi Experts!!

I have seen several similar posts and came to the conclusion that if any column in output has some text with lowercase letters, then filter will not work unless we give '*'.

However, there are a few posts which explain that, if we make the outputlen to be same as the data type length, then it should work. I tried this, but no luck.

Can somebody please confirm on how this works? If we have text with lowercase, then * is compulsory?
