Asset Lean Implementation

Hi all -

I am in SAP 4.7.

My company wants to move asset tracking from current excel to SAP.

I think we can just use the lean implementation approach.

We have 3 asset classes, 3 different Gl accounts for asset value, accum depreciation, and depreciation expense.

We have about 500 assets with varying asset values, aquisitions dates, useful lives, etc.

I would like to transer all of the master data and asset gl balances to SAP.

In 4.7, there is chart of depreciation 0010, which is precofnigured, which we will use.

We really only care about book value and straight line depreciation key.

Please guide me on what I need to do.

1) I already set up chart of depreciation and assigned it to company code

2) I think I will use the asset class wizard to build the asset classes based on gl account

3) what is the process for creating the master data for my 500 assets? Is there some tool I can use in SAP or do I nee to create an LSMW program? What is standard and best practice? is this what as91 is used for? If so, it looks like as91 creates 1 asset at a time, so I do lsmw of as91?

4) after i create all of my assets, then I still have to load gl balances at the gl level only (not asset level)? oasv is the tcode?

Please let me know what I might be missing and any best practices that I need to follow.

Thank you!
