log on to the portal

Hi

I have installed the Portal 6.0 SP2 (version is 6.0.2.4.1.Enterprise_Portal_Service_Pack_2 and Operating system is Windows 2000)

I have created a user to login to the portal (I have disabled the user SAP*) and I can login to the portal with my new user.

The problem is that I cannot login to the portal if I try through another PC that is connected to the network. I can see the initial login page of the portal but when I type the ID and password I don't get logged in (it redirects me to the same page)!!! If I try to give wrong ID or password I get an authentication error!!

I don't think it a network problem as I can see the initial login page of the portal.

Any ideas?

Regards

Dimitris

Hi Ketul,

Thanks for your response. Also was this behavior observed for all users or a few random users. We are facing this for a few random users.

Thanks,

Rizwan,

One our system every user had this problem. Are you running it on unix or windows. You may just want to try to upgrad to sp11, there are few new feature in sp11.

Thats the strange part, this is happening only for a few random users. So I am presuming that has something to do with either a setting in the iisproxy.xml file or another setting. But thanks for the update.

Appreciate it

HI Dimitris,

We are running EP 6 SP10 and encountering the same error. Our Portal URL is working on a few machines but on some machines it keeps loading the first page. Also observed the same on different machines but same users.

Could you tell us what kind of DNS configuration did you do to correct this behavior?

Thanks,

Hi Rizwan,

I just applied the same dns configurations for all the PC's as the ones I had in the PC from where I could logged in the portal

Hope this helps

Hi Dimitris,

I am sorry, my error is slightly showing a different behavior as compared to yours. For me we are able to get past the login screen, but after getting in, we cannot move past different tabs. Could the DNS configuration be the solution for the this issue too?

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you calling the new portal by it's fully qualified domain name? i.e. myportal.mycompany.com

Yes, I can see the initial login page of my portal...

I enter the Id and password but it redirects me to the login page again
