Confirmed quantity or reservation - What is correct concept

Dear Gurus,

I am facing the trouble between the concepts of confirmed quantity and reservation quantity. As I know material's quantities in SO will be confirmed after run ATP and TOR if stock quantity is enough, and see in stock requirement list this quantity is in confirmed. But I am not sure that confirmed quantity is different with reservation quantity for SO or not. If not how can I reserve this quantity for SO not by MB1C. I afraid that, other staff will create SO and delivery it before my SO can be delivered. Please explain for me in this case.

Thank for your support!

First check what schedule line category is flowing into your sale order. Next go to VOV6, select that schedule line and execute. Check the box for "Req./Assembly" and "Availability" and save.

Now create a new sale order and check in MD04.

Dear buddy,

I would have 2 issues:

1. Concept of confirmed quantity when create a SO, I read some posts and I think confirmed quantity in SO is not reservation quantity for this SO. Is my understanding correct?

2. I am trying to config ATP for one item and I found that ATP happened but no confirmed quantity or SO quantity was showed when I check in MMBE and MD04. I use checking grp 02 and ticked on Req./Assembly" and "Availability" like Lakshmipathi's advise

All my questions belong to ATP and TOR. I would appreciate your support on this case.

Yes this is correct, reservation is reserving stock against a sales order, for example Make to order stock, where in stock is reserved for a particular sales order and can not be assigned to other sales orders. Confirmation of quantity at the schedule line means, quantity from unrestricted stock is confirmed to the sales order. This quantity can be uncofmed and can be allocated to other sales order.

Check whether the sales order has been put in credit hold. You can find this through the status of the sales order or you can find the sales order in VKM1 list.

Dear Friends,

Thank a lot for your help!

Question 1: I would know how system reserve against sales order, should we do it by MB1C, MB1A, MB1B by mvt type 231 or we can reserve directly by ATP and TOR (not by immediately create delivery order for this sales order).

Question 2: I did not face with credit hold in this case so might be credit is not the reason for block confirm quantity here.

Please keep your eyes on this thread. Thanks a lot!

Someone can help me to verify these issues? Please help

Hi,

Let us take the scenario like:

Total Unrestricted stock as on 08.11.11 = 100 pcs

Sales Order number 6000001 QTY 10pcs with confirmed schedule line for delivery on 08.11.11

When next sale order is being created, you can see the ATP qty as 90 only and not as 100. So if the sale order qty is 100 pcs,

then system confirms only 90 pcs.

Hence,

If availability check is customized properly, then, the issue of SAP confirming schedule line without stock does not arise.

Your fear that other staff creating a SO and delivering before your SO also does not arise. You can check the u201CATP quantity fieldu201D in the Sales tab of the overview screen for each item.

Reservations will not show in MMBE.

Please check and confirm

Hope this helps.

Sharan

Dear Sharan,

I would appreciate your contribute! I checked CO09 few times and I can not see and confirm quantity in this tcode even in SO schedule line show confirmed.

I input new SO with quantity more than stock on hand but in SO still confirm

I really confuse. I am using material T-AU301 in IDES (hope all of you can access IDES). I am not sure this material is configurable material or not. I change in ATP and TOR and nothing change. Nothing happens after change config. Very strange here!

Hi,

Try with this material in IDES. First post some material using MB1C.

Customer: T-L63A01

Sales area: 1000- 10 -00

Sales order type: OR

Material: P-100

Check also MMBE for this material.

Sharan
