Hi all,
I am new to SEM and am interested in learning the module.
Can anyone suggest some good stuff to gain business knowledge which would help me once I pickup SAP functionality.
Also what are the technical concepts one need to be good in! I am in SAP for around 8 years and doing HCM functional.
I am good in SAP ECC, no little about SAP BI/BW. Is this knowledge mandatory!
Please express your thoughts.
Regards,
Bharat
i'm relying heavily on three transactions: RSA1, UCWB, & RRMX. i have also used ECC EC-CS CXnn transactions for compatibility reasons.
from the business point of view, you need to understand the consolidation accounting processes, which are mainly interco eliminations, goodwill, and non-controlling interests.
all this should keep you busy for many months to come.

you don't need to know either BW or FI/CO, but the more you know about them the easier it will be for you to be comfortable with SEM-BCS. BW is more for technical reasons and EC-CS is more appropriate for business logic. EC-CS (business) consolidation concepts are implemented in SEM-BCS which is based on a different technical concept. EPM has similar functionality but is still less mature than SEM. i wouldn't be surprised if HANA moved quickly in the same direction.
