Delete/Generate Index in PC

Hi experts,

I'm creating several PC to load my cubes and DSO, and I understand why the "option" delete/generate index is used.

However, there are some aspects of its usage that i don't understand.

Example 1 - PC1

Start

Delete Index

Load IP to PSA

Load DTP from PSA to Cube

Generate Index

Example 2 - PC2

Start

Delete Index

Load IP to DSO

Activate data in DSO

Load DTP from DSO to Cube

Generate Index

Example 3 - PC3

Start

Delete Index

Load IP1 to cube

Load IP2 to cube

Load IP3 to cube

Generate Index

Example 4 - PC4

Start

Load IP to PSA

Load DTP from PSA to DSO

Activate data in DSO

Load DTP from DSO to Cube

Q1:In deleting indexes, you always choose the cube. But in creating, although you might choose to create the index in the cube, the variant you choose bust be drived by someting, like IP.

Can anyone explain how this part works (creation of variants, any detail that should be taken into account)

Q2: Should Indexes also be created for DSOs or they should only be created for cubes?
