Impact of EHP4 Installation on ECC 6.0 without activation

Hi,

Will there be any impact to existing process if EHP4 is only installed and not activated?

I understand that SPDD & SPAU adjustment has to be done, but apart from that are there any syntax corrections, obsolete transaction issues etc?

Appreciate your responses.

Thanks

If you are doing upgrade then you need to perform SPDD during upgrade and SPAU after upgrade. You should perform these to maintain consistency of the system. As far other issues are concerned, you should perform complete testing.

Hi Sunny,

What do you mean by EHP4 is activated or not ?

-I meant - Only EHP4 is installed but no Business Functionality is activated.

-About SPDD & SPAU I am clear we have to do the adjustment. The second part of my question was will there be any other impact outside SPDD & SPAU due to just EHP4 installation alone [without activating any business functionality].

Thanks

EHP4 installation does not means that you need to activate business function. You can activate business function as and when there is a need.

There is no known impact. But you should perform full testing after EHP4 upgrade so that you can check if there is any error. In order to know if there is any impact because of EHP4 upgrade then you can perform upgrade on your sandbox system.

Hi Sunny.

I do understand that a full regression testing is required. I was looking if there was a way to predict what gets impacted as a result of EHP upgrade.

Thanks

Hi,

That's not possible. But if you are looking from perspective of activation of new business function then you can generate impact analyzer report.

Thanks
