Explorer link in BI Launch Pad does not open the link- returns an error


Hi All

We have installed the following server software:

- SAP BI Platform 4.0 SP02

- SAP BI Explorer 4.0 SP02

- SAP BI Platform 4.0 SP02 Patch 6

- SAP BI Explorer 4.0 SP02 patch 6

System Information:

- Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit

- Tomcat 6.0.24

Our deployment of the BI 4.0 Platform is a distributed system where

- Server 1 hosts the BI Platform Services and the Explorer Services

- Server 2 hosts the web application server

As per the installation guide we have run the wdeploy predeploy command to build the WAR file on Server 1 and then deploy the WAR file on Server 2.

When a user tries to access the Explorer from the BI Launch Pad, the following occurs:

- the link does not show the Explorer icon but a square block with a small red cross in it

- holding the mouse over the link, the following details is displayed: ???

- clicking on the link the following message is displayed:

*404 Missing Page


The page you requested is not available on this web server for one of the following reasons:

The address you typed may be inaccurate. For example, a character was missing. To correct this issue, double-check the address and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

If you clicked on a link or button, the web application that generates this link may be experiencing a temporary problem. Close and restart your browser and try the link again at a later time. *

However a user can access the Explorer application directly and it works correctly.
