data conversion caused by the change of a domains value range?

Hello experts,

we adjusted the value range of a domain, the domain is used in a data element, that is used for a field that has been extended in MARD.

The domains type and length have NOT been changed.

Might this change force a data conversion of MARD's content if promoted to prodution?

We do not want to interrupt daily business.

... everyone i talked to sais 'NO' but noone is sure

Thanks for your help.

regards

Steffen

The change in the Domain values should not adjust the Database values. These the listed changes which would do the data conversion at domain level. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cf/21ede5446011d189700000e8322d00/frameset.htm

But it may start giving errors when the record is accessed in the transaction. e.g. it would say entry AA doesn't exist anymore.
