Distribution of Cost Center with the ration of Cost element and WBS

Former Member

Respected CO gurus,

Greetings!!

I have got a problem which should be delivered to my client by monday (US time). I am brifely presenting the entire scenario ........

There will be a cost center say thats having 25000 bucks to be distributed in WBS W, WBS X,WBS Y and WBS Z

it will be done on Variable proportion and that proportion will be defined with the relation of cost element and WBS.. like the following...

Single WBS Group

-

WBS A - 10000

WBS B - 5000

WBS C - 5000

WBS D - 10000

Out of this, Cost element say Cost element K is having 5000 buks relating WBS A, 1000 Bucks of WBS B, 2000 bucks of WBS c and say 8000 bucks of WBS D.

now that Cost Centers money 25000 bucks will be distributed in ratio of 5:1:2:8.

Now, Can you please suggest me some way to define it? Its really urgent.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

Ani.C

Frame the cycle in KSV1 or KSU1 as per requirement

In the sender/receiver tab maintain the cost element and WBS

In the receiving tracing factor define the ratio.

Divraj, This much I have done but in receiver tracing factor where is the relatiopship in between WBS group and CE? For your information let me tell you that, Selection Criteria determaines the variable percentage which helps to distribute the cost... but you cant find only one cost object there, thats Cost element.

I need to distribute cost center to the percentage of ratio in between Cost element and WBS.

I have tried through Statistica key Figure but I could not found the way.

So I need help on this note.

In the segment header choose FIxed Portions or Percentage instead of variable portions.

In the Allocation method - You need to select Variable portions and not Fixed %

Below Variable portion - Choose Actual Cost (Cost element) and specify here the group of cost elements....

In the receiver portion of the cycle, specify the WBS elements.. System interprets it the way you want i.e. Cost center (Sender) = XYZ, Receivers = WBS A B C D and Allocation basis = Cost elements specified under Variable portion as receiver tracing factor

This set up means that Costs in CC XYZ will be distributed to WBS A B C D on the basis of Cost elements posted in WBS A B C D.. I hope this is what you want

Ajay Thanks!

But XYZ are not Cost Centers... they are WBS...

Cost Center will be distributed in four WBS in the ratio which will be derived from the relation of one sigle cost element with one WBS elements group with four different WBS element.

Am not clear now what is sender, what is receiver in your case

Ajay,

Sender will be a Cost Center

Receiver will be a WBS group

Receiver Tracing factor will be derived from the relationship between a cost element with another WBS group.

now, is it OK?

Sorry, thats not possble

Workaround is to post the desired values as SKF on the WBS A B C D... These SKF values to match the cost posted on WBS elemnts P Q R S

Hi

You should collect values posted on WBS P Q R S in excel

CReate an SKF say, TEXT1 and post the values for this SKF in KB31N for WBS A B C D

In Assmt cycle, use Variable portio - SKF and specfy WBS A B C D as receivers in the cycle

hope its clear now
