handle rental & customer's inventory

Dear Gurus,

Need some advice to handle rental & inventory from the MM side. My requirements are:

- We produce some chemicals that sold to customer A.

- We also rent out our space/storage to customer A for them to store the chemical that puchase from us.

- Every month, we bill customer A the rental cost base on the stock/level of the chemical

- The same chemical is also sell to other customers as well

Question:

1 How do we track the quantity of chemical(belongs to customer A) at our stoage in SAP? (Reason being we invoice the rental to custmer is based on the quantity of chemical available in the storage). Of course, the stock value should not reflect in our accountig book.

2. How do we stock in the chemical quantity upon receipt from cutomer A?

3. How do we perform stock issuance when customer withdraw the chemical from the storage?

Note: We are not allowed to use 5-series mvement type (e.g. 501, 511) to handle this scenaio. Any one can enlighten me on the SAP best practise for this situation?

Hi

S you said you produce chemicals and sold it to customer ,it means your system task is complete here

Now when customer ask to you give your storage to me on rent to storage my checmical at that time your rate of rate will depend on qty of chemical

suppose for litter you charge1 dollar per day

I think for same transaction you don't want any valuation in your system only qty update how much qty in storage and how much take out

I think we can achieve this by following way ,try following

1) Create material type for QTY update only and assign for specific plant only as you told this storage assign to that plant,

means in OMS2 don't mark value's update indicator for plant and material type combination

In your org structure how is the storage space configured as a) storage location or b) Plant ?

Hi

1. You can use the concept of batch management to track the material in your storage location.

2. For invoicing rental only standard SAP option I know is invoicing plan. You will have to use this manually.
