Use of old storage unit numbers not allowed - How to allow it?

Hi all,

Our business requirements owes us to allow old SU-posting into our warehouse.

System displays error: "Use of old storage unit numbers not allowed" if you try to post an SU that has been previously created in warehouse.

Does anybody know how to allow it?

Thank you and regards,

David Olier

the message number is L3 213

And you entered a number that does not exist as storage unit, and it is not the next number in sequence of your number range.

This just violates SAPs design.

so the answer is: you cannot allow it, as it is a hardcoded error message, except you modify the SAP programs on own risk

Business flow is as follows:

Plant A sends SU 1 from one storage location (physically inside the plant) into another storage location (which physically is another different plant).

This second storage location is an external warehouse, so business requirement is to post exactly the same SU (1) when this external warehouse sends back the sended materials:

Plant A - Own Sloc - SU 1 -

> External warehouse (as an HU with number equal to this SU)

Plant A - External Sloc - HU 1 -

> Own Sloc with number SU 1.

PS: error is standard, not Z

even the best reason is not not good enough if the SAP design does not allow this approach.

Could you please check whether the error message is a standard one or some Z?

Thanks & Regards,
