Batch determination and availability check

Hello,

How is the batch determination in sales order/delivery related to availability check in sales order/delivery.

1 ) when the batch is determined in sales order, does the system does the ATP by considering the actual stock for that particular batch determined in sales order ?

2 ) what happens at the delivery level. ?

I think during PGI, the system checks for the actual stock for the batch which is determined in delivery ?

request pls answer pointwise.

Hi,

Batch determination and availability check at sales order level:

1. System checks for the stock availability and confirms the stock to the extent available in the batch.

2. Batch split is not available at the sales order level

For Ex: Sales Order line item qty is 100 Units and Batch A has 30 Units, Batch B has 60 Units and Batch C has another 50 Units. In this case at the order level, system will confirm the stock of 30 Units for Batch A and will not confirm the rest 70 Units under the assumption that Batch A has been selected as per the batch determination strategy.

Batch determination and availability check at delivery level:

1. System checks the stock and confirms the stock to the extent available in the plant

2. Batch split is available at the outbound delivery

For Ex: Delivery line item qty is 100 Units and Batch A has 30 Units, Batch B has 60 Units and Batch C has another 50 Units. In this case at the delivery level, system will confirm the stock of 30 Units from Batch A, 60 Units from Batch B and 10 Units from Batch C.

Yes the system does the availability check when the batch is determined in the sales order.

2.what happens at the delivery level.

The determined batch will be copied in to the delivery and if you want the availability check in delivery also it can be performed according to the configuration settings.

Hi,

1.If batch is determined in sales order, system checks the actual ATP qty of the batch.

2. In Delivery user cannot change the batch which is determined in sales order.

3. In case batch is determined in Delivery, system checks the ATP quantities for the batch and confirms the qty.
