in PDS the '01' resource mode is on proirity 'A' but in the product heuristic run system is selecting the Mode 02 that is with the priority 'B'. system should assign the resorce '01' as its on higher priority.

Hi,

Can you check in strategy profile what is the setting defined for " Lowest mode priority".

Thanks Nandkumar!!!

in the global settings for interactive planning, strtegy profile is SAP002 and in Strategy P. SAP 002 the Lowest Mode Priority is blank

is this a information you are asking?

if this is the reason then please help me in this area and elaborate the impact of this setting.

thanks in advance

The mode priority feature was designed to be more of a way to restrict the modes which can be used in an operation than a way of prioritization.

The mode selection itself is made in LiveCache during order scheduling. LiveCache sorts the possible modes according to the availability dates and only after that according to mode priorities

When the "Lowest Mode Priority" setting is not defined in the strategy profile, the system selects for the operation the mode with higher priority when the operation:

  • ends as early as possible at the forward scheduling

  • starts as late as possible at the backward scheduling

HI,

If finite scheduling is activated in your profile, and if the resource 01 is already loaded or doesn't have enough capacity to fulfill the order on time, then the heuristic will schedule the order on the resource 02 - the second priority which has enough capacity. So please check the what is the net available capacity of the resource 01.

hi,

the capacity is not available on resource 01, but i want to schedule the operation on the same resource 01, system should ignore the capacity constraints and schedule on it.

Hi,

Probably , u need to overload the capacity for resource 01..

hi,

I checked in the resource uttilisation report (/sapapo/cdps_rept) and found that the resorse 01 with mode priority 'A' is 13% utillised lots of free capacity is also available for Res ''01. and the resource 02 which is with mode piority 'B' is 89 % utillised.

for 'A' higher utillisation should be there.

In Addition we did recently SNP go-live, earlier there was only PPDS.

Hi.

It's not only a matter of resource load. If capacity is available in both resources, the system will choose the fastest mode. If both modes take the same time to be executed, then the one with the highest mode priority will be chosen. That is as described in my previous reply.
