Error LIC1416N with return code -100 in DB2 9.7

Dear All,

While applying license in DB2 9.7 on Windows Server 2008, using db2<dbsid> user we are getting error as:

LIC1416N The license could not be added to the nodelock file

automatically. The return code is "-100".

I am applying license using command db2licm -a <location of license file><license file>.lic .

Please help me on this issue.

Thanks for reply and links.

1. I read note.

2. No issue of permission.

3. I have proper license files.

Is it due to I'm trying from C:\users\<user> ? and had to be done from another location?

yes you always has to apply license in /db2 filesystem

Location of the file doesn't matter. What matters is the user and the environment so that you should be able to 'execute' the command properly.

The issue is with user when I tried through user with Admin rights it solved my problems.

Hello,

Just to make sure,

1. Have you already referred the Note 816773 DB6: Installing an SAP OEM license ?

2. Did you download the license zip file according to above note and according to your db2 version ?

3. The directory where license file resides and license file are with full permissions and correct owner and group ?

Most probably the problem is with permissions.

4. Do you have root access on this host ?
