Hi Team,
We have to hide the fields in ESS address iview only for permanent address and not for other addresses like work, emergency. But when i hide these fields (ctrl + right click) in permanent address, it hides it for all other address types also. Could you please tell me how can i acheive this?
Thanks and regards,
Ajay Singh.
Hi Ajay,
For customization of ESS 3 ways we can do it.
1.portal penalization administrative level :Go to administration user prospective >content admin>Go to standard ESS service--> select the iview and preview then u can hide the fields so that effect to ever user
2.home page area framework: way of customize the service go to back end using spro T code and go to home page area frame work so u can select the service choose u r application and remove the fields and change the position ..
3.NWDI: its quit difficult in customization ESS import the track and go nwds area so can remove the mapping and save & deploy application..while doing this ways having track import problem portal transport conflict errors problem .so better approach is 1&2 ways ..
Thanks& Regards

Hi Srinivas, Ajay,
I am facing the same difficulty you had,
Only for permanent address, the fields should be in readonly.
when trying the first option (from Portal) then fields are disabled for all addresses. I want to set readonly for the Permanent address fields.
so I have to go with option 2: Backend SPRO. I am not fimiliar with spro
Please provide the detail step by step procedure to make changes in SPRO.

id of a text input box in these applications are not bound to address type.
i.e. Suppose you have Permanent address section....you hide a field in it....
now...suppose some other user has not updated his permanent address at all...but has updated the emergency address.
now wot will happen..is...the field id that you made hidden for permanent address will be assigned to emergency address and because you have made that field as hidden...it appears as hidden for emergency address.
Best approach would be to do it by NWDI.

Hi Ajay,
Firstly there are two types of hiding the services like address etc
1.front end personalization which is done with from portal side where,by doing this way it may or may not reflect for the all the users.

Hi Ajay,

2. Backend personalization ,where in this goto home page area framework in transaction SPRO look for the service adress in the standard services of ESS related things then by changing the position of address = 0(zero) that particular service is hided for all the users.
hope this information helps you solving the issue!!
