Global Security Settings issue in xcelsius dashboard

Hi Everyone,

I am facing the issue of Global security settings whenever i open the dashboard in ppt or swf or any format. In my machine i can do the settings by making the ppt file trustes in the Adobe security settings website, but what if this ppt need to be shared with about 1000 of users, do all the users individually need to do the same settings which i did(making file trusted on adobe website), if yes then it is a pain to make all user understand about the navigation of the adobe website to make the file trusted OR is there any way to make the file trusted on adobe a site for all the user at a glance.

I don't really understand your question. Are you talking about having to make security changes within your Internet browser to allow these files to be opened? I wouldn't expect this to be limited to dashboards, i suspect any file of the same type to have this issue.

HI..

No not about the internet browser settings

suppose my Dashboard is in PPT format, now if i open that ppt for the first time i get the error "cannot access external data- make the file trusted in global security settings on adobe website http://www.macromedia.com/go/player_settings_en";

I had made the file trusted from my machine, now next time i'll not get the error.

But what will happen if i had to share this ppt to almost 1000 users and all the user will see the ppt on their local machine, will i need to make them follow the same procedure which i follwoed? if yes then it is a pain and become worse if the users are not tech savy.

regards

rohan

This issue isn't going to be specific to xcelsius, you would have this issue with any flash object that tried to access data from a different location. Looking at the page you sent, it looks like you will need to have something included with your files to educate your users on how they have to set their security for this to work.
