Hi,

Imean to say that the GR yet to be expected and GI done means the stock will be posted under negative stock. After GR has done the negative stock will be nullified. To do this allow nagative stocks for GI interim storage types have to be checked. Thanking you.

Hi Rock,

Usually allow negative stock is required for GI interim storage types like 910, 911, 912... for the reason that sometimes goods issues may be allowed even if the stocks do not exist in the storage types (or stocks expected in the near future)

To enable issuing to happen with short or zero stocks-Allow -ve stocks helps to overcome this.

Hope it helps

Dear Shivas/Padmasri,

As per my knowledge we make use of allow -ve stock function in GI interim storage type(910,914,916..).

So i get shivas.

But Padmasri is saying that sytem post -ve stock before GR posting i didn't get this point.

So please help me out to undersatnd this scenario as padmasri has posted.

Rock

Hi Rock,

Its no confusion..Padmasri's point is....Suppose today you have to make 100 qty GI for a sales order with zero stocks in the bin, with Allow -ve stocks you can post the GI...Now suppose you are expecting a GR tomorrow for the same material, when you post the GR from IM to WM then the equation is...

Initial Stock = -100 PC

GR qty =100 PC

-

Net = 0 PC

The case when you have made GR in IM and not posted the stocks to WM bin then also the scenario would be same.

Hope its clear now!

Hi,

The system posts negative stock when a goods receipt is posted in IM before the goods receipt posting. Please refer below link for clarity. Thanking you.
