Inventory management

After the physical inventory document/posting has been taken,

a period of more than 3 month has been passed by.

Now we have to book the inventory back more than 3 month.

How can the material postings be booked more than 2 month back?

Hi

It is possible to book your inventory for back period for that you have to open MM period

for same read SAP note-487381

But if you need really it then open back period otherwise don t do it SAP also suggest same in given note

Hi Helmut,

1st check in MMRV to check which periods are open to be allowed for the postings. Usually its 1 prev period open with your current period. Means if your current period is 10, still period 9 is open.

In your case, its 3 periods past. You need to open the period with MMPI (though it is not recommended) with the consultation with your FI person to be done with careful considerations.

Follow the OSS note 487381 before you start.

We can not post 3 months back date which is maintained in OMSY...it is not possible.

Hi,

Actually SAP allows to post the documents for previous one month. If you want to post for 2 months back in MMPV open the desired period and post. In MMRV check whether system allowing back date posting. Thanking you.
