Screen layout for asset Master

Dear All Experts,

There is filed called "Type name" in Origin tab of Tcode AS01 / AS02.

I can enter / Change data for Type name by AS01 / AS02.

Now i want to make this filed as "Required" entry. i.e Mandatory entry should be there.

So i have tried to make change in

SPRO---> Financial Accounting (New) -

---

> Asset Accounting -

---

> Master Data ---> Screen Layout -

---

> Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data

But this filed is not visible at screen layout of asset master data configuration.

I have searched sdn fourm and tried all suggestions but could not find any final solution.

Pl suggest me how to make filed "Type name" as reuired entry.

Hello Swati,

If you want to make Type Name field as required, then you will have to make following activity.

In Screen Layout Master Data --> Origin, Manufacturer is required to be Required field. But due to this, Manufacturer, Country of Origin and Type name will get "Required entry" As this is a combination group. I hope your requirement will meet.

Thanx a lot.

I have Made Manufacturer as "Required" entry.

Checked in AS01 for entry, Here Manufacturer, Country of Origin and Type name is now mandatory filed

Is there any way to make Type name filed only mandatory. we donot want Manufacturer and Country of origin as a mandatory field.

Secondly, Manufacture is a combination group of Manufacturer, Country of Origin and Type name .

How do we know which grouo name is combination of which field name.

Hello Swati,

All those three fileds are related to Manufacturer. Hence I don't think it is possible only to make Type filed mandatory.

Now Manufacture is a combination group of Manufacturer, Country of Origin and Type name .

Likewise, How do we know other combination of group and their field name.

Hello Swati,

You will have to check one by one selection option in screen layout.

You will have to do the testing by selecting one field and find out the combination.
