Difference between Master page and Body Page?

Hi Gurus,

1. Can u explain me the exact difference between the master page and Body page

2. what is the need of subform and when to be used .

Hello Manoj,

Master Page is used to design the layout of every page where as body page is used to print content of the page.

Subform is like a container which holds a set of data.

Please go through the adobe life cycle designer help for more details.

If every page in the form has a common header or footer element, you can design this common element in master page.

Subform is a container for a group of elements in a form. Suppose you have a pay section in a form, you can include all the

elements in a separete subform.

Hi Rakesh,

Thanks. And i have one more doubt i am currently with the requirement holds header details say

Sales Docu, Sales Org, Dist. channel , Division and this should be in top of the first page and it should not get

Repeated and followed by the item details say Material , Material Desc , Net price , Net wt. and this table is to be

repeated based on the data volume. Right now i am achieving this but the overflow data starts from the place where it

starts from the first page and the place holds for the header is empty i need this empty space should not be there and

the item should get started from the top of the page.Now i am using 2 sub forms and 2 pages to achieve the item to be

repeated.In the master page i kept header details and in the body page i capture item details.

Hello Manoj,

According to my understanding of your requirement, you need not use master page, bring the header details also to the body page(design view)... Then header will be only in first page and item details when overflowed, will start from the top of next page...
