Planning Strategies

Scenario 1

- Final product A (KMAT) is sold to specific customers through use of option configuration.

- B material (a manufactured part) reports to A in the BOM and it has its own BOM and routing. There are many other materials like B (e.g. C and D) are the configurations of A and also reports to BOM of A.

- Demand planning is done through percentage proportion, where we forecast quantity for A, we will also forecast the quantity for each options (e.g. B, C, D).

- Material B can be sold to any customers and separately from A.

Questions:

- What strategy should be used?

- Can B be a phantom item of A? I believe it cannot be...?

- Other settings and considerations to take note?

Scenario 2

- Final product A can be sold to specific customers through use of option configuration.

- It can also be sold to any customers without configurations

- What strategy should be used?

- Other settings and considerations to take note?
