Hierarchy from flat file is not displayed

Hi all,

To load hierarchy from excel, I followed this document:

At last step, I load the hierarchy via infopackage and check whether it is loaded by clicking monitor icon.I see that 241 records loaded successfully.However when I go to the hierarchy maintenance screen, I do not see the hierarcy that is expected to be loaded.

What might be the reason for this? Where is the hierarchy?

When I go to PSA, I see that there is one record called the name of the hierarchy.Is this normal?

Hi,

please check if the flow you created is BI 7 or BI 3.x you can see this by look for a small square behind the datasource name.

Since you are able to look in PSA i expect it to be BI7 flow which (no square in above mentioned place) means you need to check your infopackage to see if it is loading to PSA only or also to infoobject. If its loading only to PSA you either need to create a DTP and run that aswell or change the setting in the IP

Hi Nieuwenhuizen,

I am using BI 7 but loading hierarchy is a 3x issue.So there is a small square near datasource and it is also only PSA.By the way, I can load the same file to the same char(0country) in another system and see the hierarchy in maintenance screen.So I start to think that this is a basis issue.

It says it is successful but in details tab, I see a red warning "Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : 2nd processing step not yet finished " and now started to look for the threads for this message.

Hi,

Flat file would need specific structure. Look at following thread as well

There is one standard program as well to generate the correct flat file structure. So kindly look into it.

Hi,

If the infopackage load was successful then you should be able to see the data in hierarchy, but to make sure, please check the Hierarchy Selection screen and you should have selected the correct name. Also check the Update Method - "Full Update".

Processing should be "ALE Inbox & InfoObject".

If all these are correct, please load the data again & monitor it.

You should able to see the data in Hierarchy.

Hi,

ok so that has been cleared. If the settings regarding the dataflow are the same in both systems, yes then there could be another problem. However, please double check if all settings are indeed the same because only minor difference can have big impact. I still think it has to do with either an activation or additional load step after loading the file to PSA. If the IP setting (on processing tab) is set to 'ALE inbox only' that will be the problem.

Hi,

Just check if your loading has been done successfully, otherwise you should be able to get hierarchy in the Hierarchy tab.
