Hello,
we are running BO 4.0 SP02 Patch 6 on Windows Server 2008 R2. The content was migrated from BO 3.1 without problems during the migration process.
Now we have the problem that the Adaptive Processing Server is restarting several times during a day. Sometimes it runs for hours, sometimes it restarts multiple times during an hour. The restart takes some minutes and during that time the server is under heavy load and no charts can be displayed in WebIntelligence.
The other server processes aren't affected and are running without reboots.
Anyone has a solution for this?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Matthias
I increased the allocated ram for the original Adaptive Processing Server from 1 to 3 GB. Until now, this works. The second Adaptive Processing Server is stopped at the moment.

Hi Mattias,
By default, after installing the BI4.0 Platform the Adaptive Processing Server (APS) is not optimally configured: the installation routine deploys an 'out-of-the-box' configuration, where the APS hosts ~20 services simultaneously.
All services run on a single java APS instance, with a maximum java heap size allocation of 1Gb RAM.
For best performance and scalability, SAP recommends that you host important services in multiple dedicated APS containers, and then adjust the sizing parameters to answer the different memory/processor requirements.

Hi Matthias,
Kindly refer SAP Note 1630185 and let me know if it helps.

Hello Nakul,
thanks for your reply.
I set up a new Adaptive Processing Server including the Platform Search Device. The new Adaptive Processing Server is running and didn't restart until now. But the old Adaptive Processing Server already restarted twice during the last 10 minutes.
Maybe any logfiles might help to find the cause of this problem? If so, I would post them here.
Thanks in advance!
Matthias
