Process chain error "Data Source 3FI_GL_0L_TT must be activated"

Hi Experts,

I got Process chain error "Data Source 3FI_GL_0L_TT must be activated" and had done below steps by seeing some forums:

1. Run Program " RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL" but i got following error message text " &,.Error when activating data source R3PCLNTXXX".

2.Right Click on data source and select Manage option in RSA1 and i got message as " Invalid data store object name /BIC/B0000102:Reason:No Valid entry in table RSTS" and i tried option "Replicate meta data" but still i am unable to solve the issue.

Please guide me step by step solution to solve my issue.

Hello,

I suspect the problem is with the PSA table for datasource 3FI_GL_0L_TT.

Please go to se14 and check the table status of /BIC/B0000102, it is

most likely only 'partially active'.

So the problem is that the datasource can't activate the PSA table, this

is why it fails.

Please try to activate it with the option:

"Activate and adjust database"

After activating the PSA table directly in se14, I think it will be

possible to activate the datasource 3FI_GL_0L_TT once more.

Hi,

You can run the program "RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL".If it does not work then you can do in this way: right click on DS-->Display Datasource In Source System.It will take some time.After that run the program "RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL".

Hi,

This issue might be arising in case you have recently moved your transport related to this object.

Just see source system is also connected correctly.

If above is fine see you can carry out replication for transfer strcuture ,datasource etc again.

RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATYE_ALL

RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE etc.

If still it doesn't solve your problem try to transport objects once again.See if there is any issue with transports,you can manually activate object in the system in case there is inconsistency.

Hi Narasimha,

RSTS table store all the PSA table names related to data sources.

It seems PSA related to this DS got corrupted.

1)activate the data source in DEV and make sure PSA has been created for same and entry in RSTS.

2) transport the same DS till Production

Hi All,

Thanks all for your valuable replies.

Data source activation error is happened in Production .and In data source Active version value is " Non Executable".

When i am trying to run se38 i am getting pop up window as" Express document "check load from infosurce" received from author agisupport" from "SAPoffice express info" i avoided the popup and run the program "RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL" it is showing same errors as in above post.

As per your suggestions I tried to activate data source in bi dev but while activating it is showing errors in log display as:

Under "Post processing/checking the activation for data source 3FI_GL_0L_TT" in log display i am getting red symbol for below values

&

Error when activating data source 3FI_GL_0L_TT R3DCLNT110.

Is there any necessity to check error in datasource in BI dev or shall i need to follow below steps:

Activate datasource in r/3 dev and replicate the data source in bi dev and transport the requests in both r/3 and in bi to production

Please let me know why this kind of error comes because i havent done any changes to datasource in recent times in bi dev and please guide me how to solve the above error.

Narsimha,

Did u check if the datasource is active in the R/3 system and extracting the data properly in RSA3. if the problem is in R/3 itself and no matter how many no of times u repliacte and activate the DS in BW, the error is still gonna be the same.

Do this validation in R/3 and let me know the error log if any..

Hi Sudheer,

In R/3 i checked data source and it is available in RSA6 and in RSA3 when performing extraction operation i am able to get records and there is no connection problem because i am able to run process chain for other data sources.

When i activate data source in BI ,i am getting errors mentioned in above posts and in my data flow there is no transfer structures hence running "RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL" does not solve my problem.

Please let me know how to proceed further.

Hi Narasimha,

Open the data source in RSA1(find it), if you drill down it you can able to see the transfer structure. If this is in white color, then activate it using program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL and program and check once.

I would like to ask you to do one other basic check before you activate the data source.

Sometimes, we have different clients for a same sourcesystem and we may have the datasource present in all the clients. please verify if the client number of the source system, both in BW and R/3 is same.

for example, if the client number is 120 in R/3, then in RSA1 of BW u should see the DS under the client 120.

I'm saying this becasue, u might be able to extarct the data for a particluar client in R/3 using RSA3. but in BW u might end up in activating the DS for some other client of the same source system.

if you find the client number to be same in both the systems then try using t-code RSDS in BW to activate the DS.

Hi All,

My Data source is under BI 7.0 data flow hence there is no use to run "RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL" to activate transfer rules.Please correct if i am wrong.

I have checked R/3 client settings and we have only one R/3 client connected to BI system and data source is active in R/3 side and able to extract records but inactive in BI side but while activating in BI side i am getting error as " Data source 3FI_GL_0L_TT could not be activated" .Is this data source is obsolote now?

I am looking how to activate the data source in BI 7.0 and data mentioned in data source definition seems to be fine.

Hi,

IF you are facing this error in Productions system first check is there any transports happned related to this data source(data flow) on that day or one day before.

You can check this in table e070 and inform that person to collect all the active objects and transport it again.

I think this is becaues of missing some objects while coolecting.

Hi,

You need to replicate the data source(if data source is already active) and then activate the transfer struture to rectify the issue.

First right click on the datasource and then replicate it. Then execute program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL to activate the transfer structure of the data source. You will need to provide the source system name and info source name which exists for the data source.

If data source is not in active state then first activate it by following the steps as mentioned in previous postings and then follow the steps mentioned above.

Also first check if teh source system connectivity is fine byt doing the source system check from SM59 transaction.
