Hi All

I m trying to change the digits on my coding mask for the Project ID, but I keep getting the error - CJ611.

I went into the OSS note 453280 but havent been able to find a suitable solution.

Any ideas?

There is a comprehensive note available on SDN Wiki on the same topic, please search there for your problem. In case that doesn't resolve your concern, then post here.

Hello Ammar

Actually I did read that but I was not able to get further and that is the reason I posted it here again:

Below is the link - is this the one you are talking about or is there another one:

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/CodingMask-ErrormessageCJ611

Thanks much!

Hi Rukshana,

I believe the document on wiki (which is available on the same link that you have posted) explains the error message very clearly and should suffice your requirements.

Kindly provide the old coding mask and what changes you are proposing to it in-order to determine the root cause of the problem.

Hello Ammar

my current set up is with .X.XX.XX..XX.X and now I want to change it to: .XX.XX.XXXX.XXXX

But the system would not let me and the link does not help me at all since I cannot find that report/program in SE38

Thank you for the support.

The note on Wiki states that you can only:

1) Change a numeric section to an alpahmumeric section of the same length

2) Extend the coding mask with an alphanumeric section

In the case provided by you, you are trying change the length of the coding mask (there are other voilations as well). You cannot change the coding mask as proposed by you through standard SAP practices. However, a workaround exists (as stated in the note):

1) Run the report ZZADJUSTPOSID of note 453280 to adjust the project and WBS element numbers as much as possible in background. Some dialogue may, however, nevertheless occur.

2) Run the report ZVERSION_UPDATE of note 616732 to adapt the project and WBS element numbers in the project versions involved accordingly.

Please go through these steps, SAP notes and the wiki document (the part about testing this solution first).

Hello again Ammar

thank you for the concise info on that wiki thread. However, I m stuck on finding the correct code to create the report: ZZADJUSTTCJED.

It is not stated anywhere on the note

Thanks much

Hi Rukshana,

The codes are usually given at the bottom of the note under corrections (you are redirected to a new window). You need to find the correction that is relevant to your system (601, 604 etc). My suggestion is seek help from your Basis team on the implementation of the note. Otherwise search the internet on how to implement corrections from SAP notes.

Regards,

Ammar

Hello Rukshana Sameem

If you can read note 453280 then you can Copy the Report ZZADJUSTTCJED

directly in SE38 in text format, then run

Obviously do this on a test system and test fully fist

Also read note 536471, which is a compsite note on Coding Masks

Hello

I have applied all the relevant notes from the Note 453280 - ZZADJUSTPOSID and ZZADJUSTTCJED

Now I have deleted my Coding mask, but when I try to recreate it, it gives me the below error:

Message JP011, Projects/WBS elements with the editing mask still exist.

any suggestion what I need to do

Thank you very much for the support

Hello

I dont see my Project ID in OPSJ.

However, i was able to create the Project OM without specifying a coding mask to it and then i was able to create the WBS elements with the structure that i wanted.

Thanks much
