Two questions related to HCM OM Object Description string

Hi Expert,

I have two questions related to HCM OM Object Descriptions.

u2022 We are creating OM objects like Jobs using LSMW using excel as input file. The Object description has format like numbering and bullet points. Will it be same format of the description for Job when we create via LSMW conversion program? Do we have to do special handling of description in the LSMW program to have the same format?

o When I create Object u2018Jobu2019 using PP01, I copy and paste the description and I see the same format(Excel and PP01 display description).

u2022 Can we have u2018linku2019 functionality in description? The description 'Google' which has the underlying URL www.google.com. We have to only display 'Google' with u2018linku2019 functionality. Is this possible? This function should valid when we extract the data from SE16->HRP1000 to excel file.

Solution 1

When uploading the data from excel through LSMW, you can use "Bullet Points" or "Number" any thing in the excel.. The same will be uploaded in the Description field.

Solution 2

I asked my HR-ABAPer colleague.. he said it is not possible ( LINK functionality in the description)

Hi

As far as i know the link functionality in the Object description is not possible

unless if there is some magic ABAP code which can turn text into links.
