After I retire a asset, It's changeover year is changed. Why?

There was a asset.

The asset's changeover(Depreciation key for the changeover year) year is blank.

But after I retired it. The changeover year was filled with 2011.

Can any body tell me why?

The depreciation key has two phase.

If I don't retire the asset. The asset's changeover year will filled with 2012 in the next year.

And my sap version is R3 4.6C.

Hi,

if you go via AS02 in the depreciation area and make a double click you see the "change over year"

F1-Help:

"..the system automatically sets the year, based on the specifications in the respective changeover method..."

The system set this changeover date acc. to your first settings. If you later change the depreciation start date, the system don't automatically reset the "change over year".

Do not hesitate if you have further questions.

Yes, I know the system will set it automatic.

But, the amount didn't achieve the Changeover%rate(5%).

If I didn't retire it, it will acheive the rate in 2011.

The asset have two depreciation areas. But why only Tax bal.sht's change over year was changed?

The Book deprec. 's useful life is longer than Tax bal.sht..

Hi,

This could have different reasons.

I would make some tests - delete the change over year and change temporarily the depreciation key.

In the book depr. area the key from tax depreciation area and then the opposite.

Then you know if the reason is in the depreciation key.
