We have installed BI 4.0 , can one help us how to create the new web Intelligence document from BI launch pad .
When we click on web Intelligence document , create new web Intelligence document option is disabled
Just to confirm that you are trying to create a Web Intelligence Document from BI Launch Pad in BI 4.0
Here are the steps:
1) Logon to BI Launch Pad.
2) Click Preferences > Web Intelligence (on the left pane).
3) From the top, go to:
Modify (creating, editing and analyzing documents):
This is also the interface launched from the Go To list or My Applications shortcut.
and select the radio button next to 'Rich Internet Application (download required)'.
4) Click Save & Close down the bottom right.
To confirm that you can now create Web Intelligence documents:
1) Still logged on to BI Launch Pad, go to Home tab.
2) On the far right, there should be icons listed under 'My Applications'.
3) Click on the Web Intelligence Application icon (the last icon in the list).
4) The Java applet should load, and the tool bar for creating a new Web Intelligence document should now appear on the top of the new window.
Hope this answers your question.

Hi,
Your User probably needs rights permissions granted to use the webi application. This is done in the CMC.
After this, your user will probably need access to allow browsing the Universe folder (to create a document)
And then rights to Save (publish) to a corporate folder.

H

OK understood.
Then you must be using the "Web" viewer for your WebIntelligence application Create/Edit preferences. (As opposed to Rich Internet (Java) - which is required)
in 4.0, you can't create a dataprovider with this technology. This requirement is answered in the forthcoming 4.1 minor release.
I hope this helps.
