BOBJ 3.1 question

Hello, i know we can take advantage of hierarchy built in BEX in BOBJ 4.0 but can we leverage those in 3.1 as well? thanks. i tried to search but could not find the answer.

Hi,

Yes, entirely possible via OLAP universes in XI3.1, using SAP BW's OLAP BAPI, via MDX Interface

You'll need the "Integration Kit for SAP Solutions" & it supports Hierarchy and Node Variables.

This hierarchy structure (from RSH1) is abstracted into the universe as object 'levels': L00, L01, L02, L03, L04 etc

Once rendered into the front-end (e.g. WebI) you can drill down into lower levels, but there is no "Collapse / Expand" icon (as denoted in BEx and BI4.0 as a plus + sign in the row margin)

If you have BOE Server installation at your end, you will get a folder with name "SAP" (SAP Integration Kit).

Make sure that you first need to install the FULL version of Integration build.

i.e. if you have SAP BOBJ XI 3.1 SP3 FP3.6

You need to install full package of SAP Integration kit from SP3 level and then perform an upgrade to FP3.6

so that all your setups are on same patch level.
