Xcelsius 2008 SP4, Office 2010 Pro Plus, Adobe 11, swf has missing compents

I have Xcelsius 2008 SP4 Installed on Windows 7, I can open Xcelsius fine, however if I try to preview the .swf model or create a swf file, my swf only has a few fields on it. I am running Adobe Flash Player 11 version 11.0.1.152 and Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin v 10.3.183.10. I have Micosoft Office 2010 Professional Plus Installed. However the Excel Files I am using are from Excel 2003.

Can anyone help?

I uninstalled Xcelsius 2008 Engage SP4, Removed all the old files from prior versions of Xcelsius, Cleaned up the registry, rebooted, reinstalled Xcelsius 2008 Engage SP4, Changeed the Theme Aqua, same results, many of the components would not show up, tried windows classic, same results.

So this product does not work with Windows 7 operating system, and MSOffice 2010 professional plus. I have many clients that purchase this product as a result of the work we perform. So what am I supposed to do now? Is there a plan for a fix for this in the near term, like within the next few weeks?

I made some progress u2013 I discovered that when I preview The Conroller.xlf which uses the .swf loader, it seems to work (with some formatting issues). But I still canu2019t preview the individual files that are pulled in it which means I have to way to recreate or update it. So the individual SWF page that had the charts and tables and such that DID NOT work when loaded via a XLF and PREVIEWed directly was functional in PREVIEW mode if I loaded the XLF for the controller , open it in PREVIEW within Xcelsius, and then jumped to the SWF directly from the controller while in PREVIEW.

I noticed I am having the same issues with the Samples files. For example in the User Guide Samples, Accordion Menu, when I preview that the Accordion Menu Shows but the graph does not. On the User Guide Samples Chart Drill Down, when I preview that everything works. The User Guide Samples Check box one does not work nor does Dynamic Selection (Only the Accordion Menu Shows).

When they migrated my laptop from the old Windows XP machine to the New Windows 7 machine, they copied everything. I had prior versions of Xcelsius that seem to have never gotten cleaned up.

See below for what is currently there in my directories relating to Xcelsius:

C:\XCAELDEGWG

C:\Program Files\Business Objects

C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects

Also would like to cleanup the Windows Registry after Xcelsius is uninstalled:

Read on a forum somewhere that it was recommend to remove Business Objects parameters in the CURRENT USER area of the registry.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER  Software  Business Objects

Please let me know if this will cause any issue with the reinstallation of Xcelsius SP4.

Will the information in this part of the registry be recreated during the reinstallation ? Please advise u2026

Is there any other registry cleanup recommended after the removal of Xcelsius ?

Proposed action (please let me know if the proposed action steps below would cause an issue):

1) uninstall Xcelsius SP4

2) delete the three directories listed above and all sub directories and their content

3) delete everything at or under the following in the REGISTRY (HKEY_CURRENT_USER  Software  Business Objects)

4) delete any other data in the registry that SAP recommends

5) reinstall Xcelsius SP4

Hi Icolange,

We are seeing some strange issues with Nova and Halo theme with SP4 version of Xcelsius.

I was able to narrow down the issue to Nova/Halo theme where in preview, few of the components would not show(Charts, labels etc).

Could you try to chnage the theme to some other like, Aqua and test it?

Regarding the un-install queries, you should always take a backup of registry before you delete anything.

Check if you have any other application of BO installed. If yes, then in the registry under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER  Software  Business Objects) just delete the Folder named "Xcelsius" under Suite12.0

Hi,

I'm experiencing the issue you are referring to, namely:

The default(!) Nova theme does not work properly. While in "design time" no problem, in "preview" the theme does not get rendered.

System:

Dashboard Design 6.0.0.0 (Also tried with 4.0.0.0)

Win7

Office 2007

Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX - 11.1.102.55

Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin -- 10.3.183.7 (also tired with 11)

Installed, re-installed, cleaned registry and temp etc did not help.

I could hack it with changing Admiral with Nova at /assets/styles - replace all elements and change theme.xml - so at the end "Admiral" will reference to the files of the Nova theme. With this work around the preview and everything work. But of course the XLF is not portable to other normal environments.

Meanwhile the "newly" become default "Admiral" (under the name of Nova) does not work in preview.

So I guess the issue must be somewhere with the "default" theme, not with Nova or Admiral.

Please let me know if there is a fix for this already available, otherwise hope it helps to make one.

I have successfully installed Adobe Flash Player v10.0 and I am getting the same results. My preview and the creation of my .swf file only show one of the backgrounds and two of the labels, no combo, no selectors nothing.

Any other ideas?

I am running windows 7 64 bit with a NVIDIA NVS 4200M and Intel(R) HD Graphics Family. I have a thinkpad display 1600x900

My display is 1600x900 Landscape. I can see the screen just fine before I select preview. I just can't preview or create any .swf files

I am hoping you can help me resolve this as I use this solution for my clients. Thanks

I Downloaded the zip for the Flash player 10.0 but when I unzipped it I did not see the Plugin.exe in there, Is there another way to get it.

FYI - I am running windows 7 64 bit

If you go to the link: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html and then scroll down to the page, it has the list of all the old flash player zip and the debugger zip.

Download the zip for the Flash player 10.0 and when you extract it, you can run the Flash player plugin.exe

I now have version 10.3.183.10 of the Adobe Flash Player and the Plugin which works on my XP machine (Downloaded from my company website as a package). Same results swf preview and creating the .swf files does not work. I will try and install version 10.0 as you suggested, however I did not see how to get the plugin for that version? The site you gave me only installs the Adobe Flash Player, but not the plugin, where can I get the plugin or doesn't it matter which version of the plugin I have.

Appreciate any guidance you can provide.

I am still unclear as to what I need to install. I currently have the following Components

Xcelsius 2008 Enterprise SP4

Adobe Flash Player 11 version 11.0.1.152

Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin v 10.3.183.10.

Adobe Reader X Version 10.1.1

Which one of the above do you want me to uninstall and what should I install in its place?

There were few issues with Flash 10.3 but those were fixed with Flash 11. We still noted similar issues with flash 11 with Adobe reader 10.1. It did work with Adobe reader 9 while we were testing.

When I export to PDF and PPT they both come out blank. Where can I get the Adobe Flash Plugin 10. I have Adobe Flash Player Plugin 10. version 10.3.183.10. I couldn't locate version 10.0 on the adobe site? Do you think this will make the difference?

Could you try once with Adobe Flash plugin 10.0 version?

Also check if you are able to export to PDF or PPT and preview the swf.
