Hi All
I really hope someone can help me. I have just put a brand new BW system live (as all tested OK) using Web Pages for front-end, the first I have done and the first in my Company.
We are getting occasional error mesage for users in the format:
"Filter Item DROPDOWNBOX_<i>x</i>specified an invalid characteristic 0<i>xxxxxxxxxxxx</i>"
This only happens occasionally (maybe once or twice a day) and shows no real consistency, it can be for different users, different web pages, different dropdown boxes, different characteristics. It can also disappear purely by the user login out and back in again....but sometimes it does not disappear.
It can be happening for one user but another (i.e. me) can do exactly the same thing at the same time and not get the error.
Nay ideas what might be causing the problem and how to fix it?
Many Thanks
Simon
Simon,
Do you have any Javascript code imbedded in the templates.
Please revert.

Make sure the web item dropdown box has a characterstic assigned to it. Web application designer some times deletes the characterstic assignment when you open the template and make changes and re-saves it.
Thanks.

Thanks for the replies.
The Web Page does not always fail, 99% of the time the web page is OK, but occasionally a single user will get this message, but all other users are OK. Then it may be that the next time the same user runs the web page all is OK.
My guess is that it is some sort of system resource issue, but I have no idea how to prove this.
There is no Javascript in the web page.
regards
Simon
