SAPServiceSID login failure after MS SQL 2005 Upgrade.

Hi Expert.

I am working on Upgrading SAP PI 7.0 to PI 7.11

i had MS SQL 2005 version 9.00.1399, since 7.1 needs higher version i upgraded it to 9.00.3042

Now when i try to start the server, i get the folloing error.

SAP-Basis System: Initialization DB-Connect Failed, Return Code 000256

Database: > Login failed for user 'HYDHTC165182D\SAPServicePS3'.

Database: Database error -1 at CON

OS: windows 2003 server (64 bit)

Please Help.

Hello Osman,

Did apply MS SQL server 'higher SP' or what procedure did you use to upgrade SQL Server ?

What server you are trying to start, is it 'Windows Server' ?

Where do you get this error, during sql server 'Service' restart ?

Also, is the sql installation the 'Named instance' or the 'Default' one ?

Hi

PFB the ans.

I applied SP2 pack on SQL 2005.

I am gettin error while starting SAP PI Server (starting using SAP MMC).

And that error is from the error logs of SAP PI.

sql installation is a default name instance

Hello,

Please check if this Note applies to your problem -

Note 806925 - SQL Error 4064: Cannot open user default database

Also verify if MS SQL Server services are all up or not. Please verify manual logon to MS SQL Server Studio at OS level.

Please manually verify SAPServiceSID logon to windows, as well.

Please check if you can find something in dev_w* logs from sap work directory.

Hi

MS SQL Server services are all up and running fine.

I am able to do manual logon to MS SQL Server Studio at OS level.

I am not able to login to windows using SAPServiceSID. (User is not locked, already checked that)
